LionNet is a voluntary cooperation network of Internet services of the Lions Clubs International.
The Lions Clubs International is the world's biggest service asssociation with over 1.4 million embers in 182 countries and geographic areas. A great numbeer of lions clubs, districts and multiple districts have opened their own services on the Internet using the World Wide Web.
Without proper coordination and cooperation these would be just isolated islands on the Internet. LionNet is a voluntary network of these web services, bringing crosslinking, structure and hierarchy to the LionNet.
One of the Objects of Lions Clubs International is "to unite the peoples of the world". What better way to do this than to make it possible for people all over the globe to be able to get in touch with you, to look at some of the things you are doing to help the less fortunate and to learn more about your club without having to leave the comfort of their own homes.
We have a golden opportunity to use the World Wide Web to make new friend and to introduce Lionism to the wider community. if only out of curiosity non Lions will visit our sites from time to time and will become interested in what we are doing to help the less fortunate members of our society. Before you know it you will be receiving enquiries about membership in your clubs.
Even if your club never gets one new member from being on line you are certain to make new friends and learn more about Lionism in other places. Above all you will give the rest of the world to know what you are doing in the service of mankind.
